Cutie Pops are a series of customizing play dolls made by Jada Toys Inc that began to appear around 2012. Widely known for their amazing, changeable features these fashionable friends are sweet and ready to become part of any collection!
Premise[]
The Cutie Pops are unique, trendy friends who love to decorate and accessorize everything in their colorful world. These dolls have clothes and accessories that every girl loves from cute hearts, to pretty rainbows, to all kinds of delicious sweets!
You can express your own Cutie Pop style with unique style pops that are easy to use and share. Each doll comes with different style pops. When you want to change your doll’s outfit, just simply pop out the accessory she has on and mix and match with a new pop. You can switch pops with friends to create all kinds of cute looks. Instead of cutting a Cutie Pop™’s hair, just pop out each side and pop in a new style! You can change the color, the shape, and even the length of your doll’s hairstyle. For the first time ever, your doll can have different color and style hair on each side. Isn’t that super awesome?
You can create an endless world of delicious “pop” styles and cool looks that can be changed over and over!

If you find loose Cutie Pop (fashion) pops (a.k.a. the little charms that can be popped into doll clothing and accessoires) or used dolls with unoriginal pops, you can check out the Pop Database. It lists all the pops by mold in alphabetical order. Note: hair pops, eyes, bows and other accessoires are NOT included. Just look through the characters for those pieces.
Trivia[]
- Some have noticed a similarity between the Cutie Pops and a doll known only as Blythe.
- Cutie Pops was Jada Toys first original fashion doll line and the only one up to the release of B-Kind dolls in 2021.
- Jada Toys ideas were reused by other companies over the years: e.g. Mattels Lotta Looks dolls (2019-2020) based on the YouTuber CookieSwirlC (who also reviewed Cutie Pops in her toy channel days) feature similar pop-off facial features and hair. Another example might be the Barbie Color Reveal line (2020-*) that has some dolls with hair extensions similar to pops or the Kuu Kuu Harajuku dolls by Mattel (2017-2018) which include tiny charms to pop into their accessoires. These instances might be coincidental but there´s no way to tell as a consumer.
- Cutie Pops worked with Ronald McDonald House Charities in 2012. They also wanted to get more exposure by having a booth GBK's 2013 MTV Movie Awards Celebrity Gift Lounge.
- Some Cutie Pops seem to have kanekalon hair. This disproves the common opinion that only Mattel used that hair type.
